Gizmodo is reporting that Sega is porting its Ultimate Genesis Collection to the iPhone/iPod Touch. Why Sega….why? I understand that you have tons of old school games we can’t get enough of but do we really need the price gouging you are going to do to us with the release of UGC on the iPhone/iPod Touch?
Coming out next month in the App Store, you will be able to get such games as Space Harrier II (which will be your freebie), but after that you’ll be paying the Sega tax for your next emulation fix. Sonic The Hedgehog will be $6, Golden Axe is $5, and Ecco the Dolphin and Shining Force are $3. You will be able to buy future games directly from the App but one wonders if they will do a bundle deal to compete with the UGC on the consoles for $20.
