Brink Fixes Some Issues With Latest Patch, Free DLC

Over at Bethesda’s blog, they announced the latest patch released for Brink addresses some issues players had with the game, specifically the lag. To alleviate the annoying lag until a better solution comes along in future patches, Splash Damage has changed the configuration of the 360 that “alters the number of human players when matchmaking for “Campaign” and most ‘Freeplay’ modes to eight total human players. This new configuration will allow those connecting to and hosting matches (particularly those with lower upstream bandwidth) to more reliably find and connect to quality hosts via the match-making process – resulting in less lag and more fun.”

PS3 users will get the update when PSN comes back online. Steam users aren’t left out in the update either. You can see the whole list of update details here but the highlights are addressing the AI, GPU, and server issues. For those who haven’t had problems with lag, there is a ‘Big Teams’ mode in Freeplay, and through custom settings in Private matches.

Still sad to see a lot of reviews that came out for Brink bashing the game even thought a press release was sent to those with pre-release copies there was a patch to fix issues most of the reviewers had with Brink. Bethesda and Splash Damage appreciates everyone that is continuously supporting Brink and announced that the first DLC, when released, will be free for all. Planned for sometime in June, we will see more maps and hopefully more customizations or weapons.
