It appears that Blizzard’s got a new idea in the works, one which they’ve titled “Mists of Pandaria,” according to a trademark the company recently registered.
While the information is hardly conclusive, there are a few signs that point to exactly what it’s going to be. According to MMO-Champion, the international codes used by this particular trademark are typically attached to Blizzard’s online games. Therefore, it’s pretty likely that this is the next expansion pack for World of Warcraft, given that “Pandaria” is a location which supposedly already exists within the universe that the MMO is set in (according to the Warcraft lore, anyways). It’s where the big ol’ fuzzy Pandaren come from, so perhaps you’ll get the opportunity to play as one of the rotund, drunkly huggable panda-men.
Most likely we’ll be hearing more about this when Blizzcon rolls into Anaheim this October 21st to the 23rd.
