You know, I didn’t remember this old map from Driver, which is recreated in the Driver: San Francisco engine for this trailer. Until I watched the video itself, that is. Now, my PTSD just kicked in hardcore, and I’m going to have to be in therapy for even longer because of this. You know, ’cause I was there already for other “stuff.” Point is: thanks, Ubisoft.
No, but seriously– this video, while not exactly showing you anything new from Driver: San Francisco, at least shows off the prettyful engine that the game is packin’. I’m not entirely sure whether or not it’s telling us that the garage level will also be in this iteration, either, or just there to retrieve nightmares from our sordid pasts. We’ll just have to find out!
Update: Okay, so it definitely will be in the game. This can be both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on who you are (read: bad). The good, however, is how you’ll access it, which according to the press release is done by performing the following: “simply find a DeLorean, shift into it, and drive 88 MPH.” We’re being told this isn’t a joke, either, which makes me excited as all balls. Yes, seriously: I am as excited as EVERY BALL. The developer, Ubisoft Reflections, just got a crazy amount of incredipoints for throwing this in.
Driver: San Francisco is slated for release on Sept. 6 on the PC, 360 and PS3.
