Kingdom Hearts 3D to be Complete in Early 2012, Prepare for More Darkness in Hearts and Heart Darkness

The next major installment in the Kingdom Hearts franchise isn’t too far off, according to a translation of Dengeki Playstation by Adriasang. The translations makes particular note that creator Tetsuya Nomura isn’t planning on cutting any corners for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. This is in spite of the fact that it’s going to be on a handheld gaming device, with Nomura referring to the quality as being comparable to a console release. That’s certainly good news for fans of the franchise. The title this time around is also just slightly less insane than calling it “358/2 Days,” which is a-okay in my book.

The game will also be playable at the Tokyo Game Show next month, so expect more info on it at that time.

Perhaps releases like this, in addition to the upcoming holidays, will be sufficient for consumers to boost 3DS sales to a place more in line with Nintendo’s liking, eh?
