It was confirmed earlier today that Nintendo will be hosting a 3DS-focused event on Sept. 13 in Tokyo, taking place just a few days before this year’s Tokyo Game Show. Unlike TGS, Nintendo’s event won’t be open to the public at all. No one’s entirely sure what the focus is, yet, but it’s undoubtedly in a line of recent maneuvers to get that thing selling. Which, according to a few sources, it’s been doing quite a bit more following the handheld’s recent price drop.
There are also a few rumors going around that this event will be the place for a redesign announced, but that honestly seems way too soon for Nintendo, given its track record. Not only that, but I’m sure it would piss off all of the consumers who just flocked to the 3DS for the new price drop, and they already pissed off some of the consumers who picked one up before that.
