That’s right– while the Mass Effect universe will definitely still be visited in future games, don’t plan on seeing Shepard in any new titles after Mass Effect 3.
“We have ambitious plans to continue this franchise going forward,” said Bioware CEO Ray Suzuka, speaking with PC Gamer at Gamescom this year.
“After this, Commander Shepard’s story is complete,” Suzuka also included, letting fans know that they shouldn’t expect to see the journalist-boxing champion of the world again after the current trilogy is complete.
Even though it’s something we all expected, the fact that the vastly fleshed-out universe of Mass Effect, complete with its dauntingly huge codex, will continue to get some love makes my heart all aflutter. It’d be a damn silly move of Bioware to not take advantage of their extensive creative efforts they’ve insofar made.
Even though you know exactly when Mass Effect 3 launches (you delightful little shit), I’ll still tell you: expect it Mar. 6 for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
