Slim Wii and its Fewer Features Not Coming to North America, Fans say “Okay.”

So, first Nintendo went and announced a new slim Wii. We were like “Neat.” And then, we learned that they’d made it smaller by cutting off the GameCube controller slots and gutting the backwards compatibility from the hardware. Then we were like “Ummmm.” And, according to a correspondence with Destructoid, it turns out that Nintendo isn’t planning on bringing the device to North America. Ever. Now we’re like “Yes, that is just fine, Nintendo. Thank you.”

Given that so many people still play Super Smash Bros. Melee on their Wii consoles, I obviously don’t see this selling particular well to that demographic. However, as we’ve learned, there’s a plenty large-huge market for those who want to just play titles like Wii Fit and Just Dance, and this smaller redesign is probably appealing to that crowd.

Don’t know why I’m talking about it anyways, as it’s not even coming out here! Now go enjoy your day!
