So, Ubisoft has once again understood that people hate poo-poo DRM implementation, such as always requiring an internet connection. As far as an official post on the Ubisoft forums says, From Dust is having its DRM patched out as a result of the fans being perhaps a bit put off by the entire dealie.
Maybe upset is too weak a word for it. I believe I meant shit-raving furious.
Hey, it’s a step in the right direction, Ubisoft. Again. You might remember that they did this with Assassin’s Creed 2 and Splinter Cell: Conviction. If you’re finding that fan backlash is consistently driving you to the point of patching out DRM, then why don’t you fucking stop doing it.
I apologize for the dirty nasty ew language, but it really is unbelievable, sometimes. So, I’m going to calm myself down a bit before I get back to you.
