Backlog Sessions: Kingdom Hearts (PS2)

Starting up my first game for the backlog sessions I want to start doing and I got excited. Finally, I get to dig into my massive backlog to play games that have been haunting me since I started gaming again. I missed a lot of PS2 era games so I decided to visit my PS2 pile first. Thankfully I have a backwards compatible PS3 in order to play my PS2 catalog of games.

I picked Kingdom Hearts since I heard really good things about the series and figured it would be a good place to start. I think I made a mistake. If you don’t listen to the HeroCast podcast, I complained a bit about how Kingdom Hearts is unplayable to me. Not because of the game being terrible or anything but because the game made me nauseous.

I looked up on Google to see if anyone else had my issues. Thankfully, there were quite a few people with the same issue as me. Wanting to give Kingdom Hearts a fair shot I tried using a CRT TV. Still got nauseous. I will never know if Kingdom Hearts is as great as most people say it is. I could take some motion sickness medicine to try and counteract what I can assume is the issue I have with the game, that being the camera. I am not sure I want to go that far just to play a game when I have so many others to crack open and explore.

That being said, have any of you out there had an issue with a game so bad that you could not play it even though you wanted to? Next up for me on my backlog sessions is the wonderful Odin Sphere. Here’s hoping that I don’t have the same issues with this game as well.
