Call of Duty XP continues! Yessirs, put your Call of Duty caps on. Haha, just joking. There’s no such thin– good god you actually have one.
Well, uh. Well good! I’m glad you’re part of our readership!
In a press-only event, Activision detailed exactly what subscribers to Call of Duty Elite, the optional and premium service launching alongside Modern Warfare 3, can expect to receive for their dollars. First off, subscribers of Elite will receive all of the DLC released for Modern Warfare 3 “for free,” which they mention would typically cost about $60 bucks a year if a non-subscriber were to purchase them individually. So, if you snag up every last ounce of DLC for your COD releases, then that may be incentive enough to drop cash on Elite.
It also plans to sync up with various social media, and will connect to an available mobile app, as well as offer Facebook connectivity, so that subscribers can form games with those who they’re friends with on Facebook. Elite subscribers will also have the opportunity to compete in tournaments for both real world and in-game prizes.
Among various other exclusive content promised to subscribers of the service, there will also be a series of videos which provide “humorous commentary” on player-made videos of the game. Commentary provided by Jason Bateman and Will Arnett.
What… huh. I mean, I love those two, but that definitely strikes me as a bit odd. Two Arrested Development stars providing you some good ol’ gaming related laughter? Hey, I loved Arrested Development. Perhaps the chemistry between the two actors will work well here? Shit, I have no idea.
I’m sure there will be more revealed as Call of Duty XP continues, so stay put. Yes, I mean it– stay right there damn you.
