XSEED’s throwing a party! Weeeeeee! A Corpse Party! Wee- actually that doesn’t sound very fun at all. I mean, an actual Corpse Party, that is. I have no idea how this game is going to play out, aside from being creepy and full of dead children. The entire fun part of it is still TBD, IMO.
Corpse Party, having been something of a “cult hit” in Japan, is a 2D adventure game for the PSP, in which the player navigates a haunted elementary school, speaking with ghosts of children who were horribly murdered at some point in the past. Like, one girl had her head stabbed off. Is that even a thing that can happen?!
If that’s not terrifying enough on its own, the game also intends to make good use of stereo headphones, with the use of directional sound, which is described by the press release as “delightfully uncomfortable.” Great.
I’m far too intense of a wuss to play this, myself. I mean, just regular children scare the shit out of me. However, I look quite forward to hearing all about it from those of you who do play it!
Corpse Party is set for a Fall release on the PSP, and will be available only for download through the Playstation Store.
