Border! Lands! 2! You want some! Here IS some, courtesy of a kind chap who videotaped the thing at PAX.

In this 14 minute nugget of Borderlands 2 shaky-cam footage, you’ll get a little look at the Gunzerker class, a new addition to the game who is designed with the first game’s Berserker class in mind. But, with guns! And dual-wielding! If you’re not familiar with the term: it’s like wielding, but two times.

The new landscapes are lookin’ pretty slick and pretty! Plus: moon base is awesome as all hell. And hell is pretty damn awesome. I mean, they send robot-mans to fight you from the goddamn moon. That’s some furious efficiency, right there, and I love it! Other than that, the game is looking plenty like the original Borderlands, with some nice little improvements, which is a thing I’m just fine with. Check it out!

Borderlands 2 is set to be out next year sometime, for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford announced at PAX this last weekend that we will be likely seeing more Duke Nukem in the future– and soon. It’s not very surprising, to be honest, given that they picked up the entire Duke IP. He is now their plaything, to be made into whatever they please. I really don’t think they’d go to that trouble just to release Duke Nukem Forever, even if it did manage to sell a surprisingly high number of copies.

“And then soon… I know that you guys figured out that, when Gearbox acquired the franchise, we didn’t do it just to make sure we could all play Duke Nukem: Forever,” said Pitchford at a Gearbox community panel, “we wanted to make our own Duke game. Soon, we’ll talk about that, but not today.”

Honestly, I think for the next Duke, they should not allow him to interact with other human beings. He simply isn’t designed for as much, beyond the occasional “Shake it, baby!” Strippers, Duke. You may interact briefly with strippers, and not engage them or anyone else in conversation. Stick to making quips to yourself, and throwing poo around bathrooms. Duke Nukem: Forever was all I can handle of you interacting in society.

Anyways, I’m actually pretty curious what Gearbox manages to churn out on their own, with control over this one from the start.

It was heavily rumored yesterday that we’d be seeing an announcement regarding Borderlands 2 very soon, and it took less than 24 hours for exactly that to happen. 2K Games has announced the title for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3, and is dating it to launch within their 2012 fiscal year, which runs from April 1st, 2012 and ends on March 31st, 2013.

Game Informer has revealed that its September issue will contain a good smattering of info regarding the sequel to 2009′s co-op, midget-exploding guntopia. So, look forward screenshots and more info to be dropping here within the following weeks, especially as the game’s also going to be at Gamescom, later this month.

Is it true? Probably. Especially if Eurogamer is willing to out and say that the title is “confirmed.” And given how much support the original Borderlands got in the way of DLC, I’d be very surprised if Gearbox wasn’t interested in producing another game in the franchise.

Color me excited for all of the potential scoped, two-chambered revolvers and wacky exploding midgets to come.

Recently, the staff of Handheld Heroes has picked up Borderlands to playthrough the game a 2nd time to get to level 50. We also played through the Island of Dr Ned DLC and will be starting the Mad Moxxi DLC as soon as we all hit level 50. Now, what happens after we hit level 50? Do we just play the game over and over to farm better weapons? Well Gearbox has the answer….raised level cap!

In a post on their forums, Gearbox’s Jason Reiss ensures us our cries have been heard and the level cap increase is coming in the next DLC as well as an update to fix the most annoying issues gamers have with the game. Also not to be outdone, Gearbox creative director Mikey Neumann announces on his Twitter account that in the DLC we will see more Scooter. Not much of a reveal compared to the level cap but more info is better than no info
